This Monday marked a milestone day โ€” the first international workshop dedicated to ship-whale collisions came to life with energy, commitment, and collective intelligence.

A clearly established issue, highlighting the undeniable urgency of reducing ship strikes โ€” through innovation, cooperation, and technological progress.
Many brilliant ideas, innovative projects, and concrete solutions were presented โ€” each more ingenious than the last โ€” to address this growing challenge. Complex, sometimes difficult, but always necessary questions were raised to refine and improve our collective response.

We were also thrilled to reunite with our European project partners, without whom this event could not have happened โ€” notably through LIFE – SeaDetect and SafeNav.

Special thanks to our workshop chairs, whose guidance, expertise and passion shaped the day:
Aurore Morin, Simone Panigada, Olivier Adam, and Charlotte Curรฉ.

And above all, a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible speakers, who shared their knowledge, perspectives and solutions with impact and clarity.
Natacha Aguilar de Soto, @Lรฉa David, Damian Foxall, Pelagos Agreement , Tim Collins, Auriane Virgili, Nino Pierantonio, Romain J., Charles Mars, Rรฉmi Emmetiรจre, Thomas Folegot, Arnaud Pourchez, Shaban A., Vincent CARRIER, Leila Fouda, Laurine Gounot, Pierre Beaufils, Julien D.., Loanne Pichot, Virgil Zetterlind, Jessica Scott, Lucia Bergantin โ€” thank you for your invaluable contributions.

This event may be over, but it is only the beginning of a new collective adventure โ€” in the race to prevent ship-whale collisions and protect marine biodiversity.

Letโ€™s carry this momentum forward โ€” for science, for innovation, and for life in our oceans.
